Halloween Garland

Here's a quick-ish, easy project for making a tassel garland. You can make one for any holiday or in any colours that you like to brighten up your space.

I used three colours for this one, but it's easy to adjust it to fit it to where you want it to go. 

You will need:

Any colours of Taika yarn, or another smooth yarn that drapes nicely (this is a great way to use leftover scraps too)

Jute, hemp, or cotton cord, or any cord that's stable and won't stretch out.

A hardcover book or tassel maker

Scissors

Darning needle

Make tassels by winding your yarn around the book or use the tassel maker as directed. Once you've wound it enough times that it looks like it'll be full looking enough, cut the yarn off the book, and take a length of yarn and tie it firmly in the middle of the bundle of cut yarn, leaving enough of a tail to tie the tassel onto the cord. Take another length of yarn, folding the bundle in half and wind your length of yarn that you tied and wrap it around firmly at the top to make a nice finished top to the tassel. Tie it off, and using a darning needle, tuck the ends in so they don't show, and trim off the excess. Tie the top of the tassel to your cord, and knot the cord around it so it stays put. I used a ruler to make sure each tassel was spaced evenly.
