Festive Calendar Kit *SPOILER*

I'm in the midst of completing this year's festive aka advent kit that's a collaboration with Ambah O'Brien, and hoo is it a doozy! Throughout this project I've hemmed and hawed at doing an all neutrals palette even though the idea was a persistently good one in my mind all the while, with the concern that it might be too 'boring' for folks. In fact it proved a challenge unlike any other to get the transition to be oh-so-smooth, but not too slow moving, and well balanced to boot! I'm glad that being a dyer has proved to be something that I still find challenging (in a good way) even after being in it for so many years, and I must say that seeing them all arranged together is deeply satisfying.

It's worth noting that, this year, I've gotten into mycology; the study of mushrooms, and I think their subtle, neutral tints, have influenced me greatly. Quite few times this year while on a hike, my son and husband have shepherded me along as I slowed to get a look at some new species I hadn't identified yet. I can't help thinking that this new interest has improved my ability to appreciate and differentiate subtle tonals more than ever before.

So without further ado, here's a look at the 2021 kit. Note that this is while they're still in bundles before I've separated out each mini skein for each kit. I've been extra careful to keep them organized since they're so close, a mixup could be a disaster!

This is your final warning, after this is a peek at this year's calendar. ;) I hope you're as pleased with it as I am.
